Learning affecting sleep?

Recently I’ve been trying to learn Japanese, and I’ve noticed when I’m trying to sleep my brain is having a hard time turning off the Japanese. When I’m trying to sleep I’m dreaming of Japanese characters and sounds merging with my normal dreams, and my brain isn’t turning off easily. I’ll normally have to wake up and play some calm music to focus on to get my mind to not think about the new language. Is this normal?
