Summer is finally upon us and it seems like the first official summer where the pandemic is mostly off everyone’s minds. No masks, no distancing.
I’ve been brainstorming some ideas for a short summer vacation recently (family of 4), probably for 3 nights and 4 days.
Do you plan to travel during the summer months and where to?

We (family of 4) are taking a 4 day 3 night trip to Osaka. Will go to USJ, Team labs, eat too much in the city and probably go to Nara as well. After that for the rest of summer we’ll do hiking when weather and time permits (live in Tochigi), as we have an abundance of trails.
Going to Okinawa for 4 days with the wife. Its my first time going, I am hoping to just chill near the sea, eat good food, drive around a bit and maybe visit the aquarium.
same thing I do every year…try to stay out of the sun
No escape to europe this year, so I’ll probably be watching my cucumbers grow from the window and living inside my fridge.
Probably go to Shikinejima, and Kyushu.
Hahaha
Summer is peak busy season for me, so I’ll have my nose to the grindstone in the office (at least it’s free aircon).
I get to take my summer holiday week any time between September and November though, so it should be a bit cooler.
I’m still debating whether to use the rest of my working from abroad quota for this year in summer, or save it for the holiday season. Maybe my family will visit my home country again.
I’m doing a diving trip to Okinawa for about 10 days, and visiting my family in Malaysia for all of August. Other than that probably staying at home with the air-con on and gaming.
going back home to my country for 2 weeks after 4 years finally
Staying home and saving money. It’s so expensive to go anywhere
Work and use my holidays in winter 🥶. Hate hot humid weather
Just stay at home. It’s freaking hot to do any activities. Lol
Watch one piece on ice then go to kawaguchiko to relax.
Taking my offspring to visit the grandparents in far-and-distant Outsidecountry.
Was planning on going to the US, but the ticket prices are insane still.
So, we’ll see…
Going to Hokkaido to escape the heat
Yeah… I don’t have “summer vacation” kind of job
Rent a car and drive north to tohoku or hokkaido for 3 days
Having a summer camp in Okinawa. We are still accepting applications for both staff and campers if anyone is interested.
choukin as much as I can…
Write bullshit research papers that have zero value, assuming they’re even read at all, so I can get a promotion before the school disappears in 5 years due to the dwindling population.
Either Sapporo, either Sendai, idk yet
Matsue! City of ghost stories
Day trips from there to Izumo and Sanbutsu
Summer vacation jobs in Japan ?
maybe go up to the mountains and hike
I’m finally going back home after being holed up in japan during the whole pandemic and looking forward to see my family again. Although I wish flight tickets weren’t that expensive 🥲
Europe baby! Off to Amsterdam, Rome and possibly London. Can’t wait.
Since all the summer festivals are going at full power for the first time after 3 years, I’ll likely be spending most of summer here enjoying those!
Write a couple of books and finally make my video course, all while drinking ginger syrup mixed with tansansui. Ah, bliss.
