Hi everyone, I’m finding myself lost on what else to do in Akihabara, I’ve visited the arcades, super potato, maid cafe and owl cafe, Yodobashi camera and donqui there in my years of living here.
I’m hoping anyone could suggest a hidden gem you’ve discovered while going around Akihabara, I’ll (F28) be heading there this Friday with my cousins who are teens. It’s their second time in Akihabara and I want to show them something new or interesting. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

I wouldn’t call anything in akiba a “gem”
TRIO Cultures Zone Shop is always good if your looking for anime stuff. Also Mandrake is fun to browse. I honestly prefer Ikebukuro over Akihabara.
[yushakoubou](https://yushakobo.jp/) if they are keyboard nerds / PC gamers maybe?
walk them to Ueno underground market. Google it and you be surprised
It really depends on what your cousins are into. If they like TCG take them to Hareruya. If they like Square Enix games take them to the Square Cafe (reservation is a must). There is an occult shop that sells retro Kaiju figures right outside the station (sorry, forgot the name). For good restaurants I recommend heading to the food court at the top of the Yodobashi building (not really a “gem” per-se but often overlooked).
Depends on your interests, I guess. I was blown away by an [amazing vacuum tube store](https://userweb.pep.ne.jp/classic/open.htm) I stumbled across once. If you’re into video games, there’s [a new place](https://tokyovideogamers.com/) I saw recently that looked cool but didn’t get a chance to go in yet.
There’s a gachapon place (Akihabara Gachapon Kaikan) that’s been around forever (probably 20+ years now) that I always take visitors to. It has/had the largest selection of gacha machines in Japan
It’s about a 5-10 minute walk from the Electric Town exit.
Try to find the legendary panty jihanki?
Go to Ikebukuro new Animate store and around there. Also Nakano Broadway if you haven’t been there yet
The UDX building has a great okonomiyaki place.
