Why don’t you just bundle JMdict? That’s (almost) all Jisho is anyway, and it can be used without an internet connection
Doesn’t MangaFox also have a Japanese dictionary API? Fairly sure it is an option when using Mitaku’s Chrome extension.

Random side note, but does anyone know how I can contribute monetarily to Jisho. It’s super handy and I want to make sure the creators are rewarded for their work and are able to keep it up
API? Unsure. However, I do know of a database (as a file) you can pull from — it even includes slang
I made an app for myself for studying Japanese and here’s what I used. JMDict downloaded directly in the app, jisho api, deepl api for longer phrases but it doesn’t return the pronunciation, sakura-paris for jp-jp dictionary, and kanjiapi for kanji readings.

I think there’s some api for goo辞書. I think it’s only a monolingual dictionary though
