  1. This is my first ever Reddit post. I will try to be to the point. I am 36 1/2 years old and living in Japan. Unforgivably, I did not study 日本語 prior to coming to Japan last November 13, 2022, despite being a passionate Japanophile since preschool. I am upfront with this shame because I will climb out of this hole I made. Please forgive my tangent. I recently finished reading Tae Kims Japanese Grammar Guide and while it has its flaws and has not been updated in many years, it is as someone else described it, a good base from which to start learning 日本語。

**My main problem is this: where do I go next?**

This is the question I have dreaded for over 3 1/2 years. I simply don’t know what is the best option for learning the Japanese language as fast as possible. To start with, what are the best **PHYSICAL** books you recommend? This can include anything from dictionaries to guides. I am eternally grateful for your help and I hope this is the beginning of an excellent relationship with r/LearnJapanese. Thank you very much.

  2. みんな野球嫌いなのかな

If you can – what do these なのかな do in this sentence, im still trying to get a basic understanding through immersion and the dictionary isn’t very helpful in this case.

If i had to guess hes lamenting that/wondering why nobody likes baseball, an “oh well” kind of vibe?

  3. Not to be dramatic, but since this is potentially the last daily thread this sub will ever have I just wanted to say thanks for the fun and good luck to everyone going forward.

May you all find your inner jouzu
