COE document recieved – I have questions

Hello! Thank you once again for all your help so far.

I recieved the COE application form from the company I got hired by in Japan recently. I am a bit confused about a few of the things in this document;

\- Can the document be filled digitally or do I need to print it out, fill it out with pen and scan it back again?

\- There is a field requiring you to fill out the intended living adress in japan. Can this initially be the adress of a friend you’ll stay at or a hotel or does it have to be a more long term adress?

I couldn’t find these answers in the Visa wiki so I’m hoping someone here has the answers.

Thank you!

  1. If they provided you the pdf document it would be best to fill it out digitally (probably more legible). I don’t think they do handwriting checks. In terms of intended living address, when I applied to mine for a Student VISA my university recommended just using their Admissions Office’s address. If you don’t have a living situation sorted out just yet I would say to put your work’s address. Hope some other people can also give their thoughts on this.

    If it’s an editable document, you can most likely fill it in digitally. But if you need to sign, you have to print it anyways.

    Not hotel. Long term address. If you don’t have a place yet, friend is okay. You can probably also put your work place address.

    Although, it’s best to **ask your employer**, they know.

  3. Mine was an excel sheet to complete, and there was someone at my job who assisted with the questions I had about it. Is there anyone you could ask at your job?
