Areas of Osaka similar to Daikanyama/Nakame?

I’m going to be moving from Tokyo to Osaka soon and have never been or really even researched it much (I’m moving for work but been too busy to look too much into the city). I spend most of my time these days in places like Daikanyama and Nakameguro and I’m wondering what areas of Osaka could be considered closest in vibe to these? Things like nice cafes, creative people, pleasant area with interesting architecture, good shopping etc. I’m really going to miss Tokyo so I’m hoping to find my spots quickly when I get there.

Thanks in advance!

  1. Nakanoshima (for cafes/hip), Shinsaibashi (upscale shopping, Tenjibashisuji (more traditional shopping arcade/street).

  2. I’ll check them out, but can I find some cheap ramen there too? Asking for my wallet.

  3. If you hang out in nakameguro be prepared for disappointment. Moved to Osaka after living in Tokyo for about 5 years. Been here for 3 now.
I’m sorry but it sucks compared to Tokyo. Nothing like Tokyo at all. Dirty as hell.
