  1. Welcome to the next Industrial Revolution. You get replaced by machines and now you’re not needed anymore

  2. And they are absolutely right to fear.
their jobs are going to disappear in few years from now, adapt or suffer.

  3. It’s only a matter of time before the AI-generated “art” on certain “art” sites will outnumber the human-created “art.”

  4. The problem is that AI generated production is almost always inferior to a human-crafted product, it just looks silly or weird or takes a lot of logic leaps. It could automate the rote stuff but probably won’t replace humans outright.

  5. Can someone develop an AI that blocks other AI from biting or using stylized art unique to an illustrator?

  6. My friend is a very successful illustrator. Almost all of you have seen her work. She said it’ll be 3 years before AI makes her obsolete. Clients are already supplementing a portion with AI bc it’s way cheaper.

  7. Some illustrators might be able to leverage their personal brand/unique creativity to keep themselves afloat. But yeah, the thousands of “I draw pretty anime girls and that’s it” type of artists are going to have a rough time.

  8. Regardless of quality, if you expect that your target audience will view your creation (comic, print advertisement, etc) for only a few seconds at most, I can absolutely see the appeal of using something low cost and quick like AI. Easier to spam your audience with a bunch of bot-made art than ask various illustrators to make five different versions of an ad.

  9. What about the website creating industry? Could AI potentially take over that as well ?

  10. My friend is a popular illustrator and makes sure to record a Timelapse of her artwork in order to avoid any of these accusations. To anyone saying AI is inferior to humans, it’s not. Not anymore. Scroll through Pinterest and try to tell what’s real from what’s fake. Ai is improving too rapidly, the only thing it can’t do is invent an original art style for now. I’m an illustrator too who knows how to use AI.

  11. I think most creative works are not in serious danger of being taken over by AI. I firmly believe that the market will reject anything that mostly made by AI. Yes, there is a lowest common denominator consumer that will take what ever trash is put out, but the actually communities and fandoms that make series popular will not be interested in AI produced shows, animes, books, etc.
