Deodorant recommendations?

Hoping for some suggestions from my fellow sensitive skin folks!

I have relatively sensitive skin that will occasionally react to new things, so I generally opt for sensitive/ hypoallergenic options in anything. In the UK I used either Mitchum, Simple or any generic brand sensitive variety roll on – aerosol’s are a no go for me.

I looked online for reviews of different Japanese brands and have tried both the Deonatulle stick, and the 8×4 fragrance free roll on but these gave me flair ups.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

  1. Order imported (but expensive) ones from Amazon or have a friend mail them to you. Nothing in Japan is similar to what you’re used to (or works as well)

I read in another thread that some US ones are sold on Mercari and shipped from Okinawa (perhaps from the bases) so aren’t so expensive

  2. I don’t have sensitive skin but deodorant is one of the very few things which I have ever had a reaction to. Personally I use Soft Stone, it’s a local brand and doesn’t have a strong fragrance. I don’t know what you would call this type but it’s like a white powdery stick that you rub on.

  3. I have to order off Amazon, the Japanese ones make my armpits so itchy which I’ve never experienced with any deodorant in the UK. I used to use Sanex and Nivea ones before I moved here, luckily I’ve found some Nivea ones imported on Amazon so I use those

  4. I use crystal deodorant, and while it’s not ‘natural’ it’s a lot more natural than the alternatives.

  5. I tried Hg+ (I think) and it didn’t irritate my skin like the 8×4 stuff

  6. I use Nuud! It’s a Dutch deodorant for sensitive skin and you only need to apply it after shower every few days. They ship world wide and offer family packs that last ages!

  7. Sensitive skin and from the grey bowels of the UK, boy are you gonna enjoy August/September here…

  8. Buy on Amazon.com or eBay.com. You will find the brands you expect at pretty typical pricing, plus shipping. Buy 6-12 months worth at once to keep shipping costs per item at a reasonable level.

  9. I order Nuud online. It’s deodorant, not antiperspirant, which I prefer for health reasons. I’ve tried anything and everything here, back home and from the US and this is what works best for me.

  10. Get a friend in the UK to post you a Mitchum stick deodorant. Japanese ones usually aren’t very effective for Westerners anyway.
