Who at a national or prefecture level is responsible for workplace safety/accidents. Had a chemical incident yesterday in the office that I don’t believe was cleaned up correctly. Would like a second opinion from someone other than the boss who was embarrassed that it happened.
EDIT:In the US I would call state or federal OSHA but I don’t know the equivalent in Japan

If you think it can directly violate your health, I would call in sick until its reported and fixed. No job is worth putting your health at risk for.
The safety officer should contact the labor inspection bureau. There ought to be one for every prefecture.

Document the entire experience as well for your own safety. In the event it was something odd, and they try to brush it under the rug, it’s good to have proof you experienced it if you need to deal with Workers comp or labor board in the future.
