Itinerary Check: 7 days in Japan: Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto

Hey everyone, looking for a quick review + recommendations. Mostly looking to experience Japan, some fun stuff here and there for a funny Youtube video would be great. Will be going in Japan in about 2 weeks, for a duration of 1 week.

9th July: Arrive in the afternoon, spending time near hotel to get an early night to recover from travel/jetlag. Staying in Shibuya.

– Shibuya Crossing
– Takeshita St
– Mega Don Quijote
– Cat Café, dinner somewhere

10th July: Focusing on East Tokyo Today, might skip some of these

– Tsukiji Market
– Tsujihan Zeitaku Don (Is it worth the wait?)
– Teamlabs
– Akihabara
– Ueno Park
– Nezu Shrine
– Yanaka Ginza

11th July: West Tokyo, Shinjuku etc

– Hotel Chinzan-sō Tokyo Garden/Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden/ Shinjuku Chuo Park
– Kabukicho (Should we leave this till nighttime?)
– Shinjuku Shopping and Sightseeing
– Meiji Jingu
– Shimokitazawa

12th July: Early Travel to Osaka

– Osaka Castle
– Shinsekai
– Katsuo Ji
– Dotonbori at night

13th July: Might push Katsuo Ji for this morning/ Considering leaving to Kyoto early to spend more time, or visiting Kiyotaki if its worth seeing

– General Osaka sightseeing plus shopping
– (Recommendations for Vintage clothing places and electronics stores appreciated)

14th July: Early Train to Kyoto

– Fushimi Inari
– Hirano-Jinja Shrine
– Nishiki Market (If its worth it)
– Gion Tatsumi
– Hokan-ji Temple
– Kiyomizu Deru
– Macho Cafe

15th July: Might push some stuff from the previous day to this morning, the rest of the day is mostly about getting back to Tokyo to fly out. Could squeeze in some last minute stuff in Tokyo.

– Nijo Castle
– Return flight from Haneda at 1:00 am on the 16th

**Also wondering** when it’s best to activate the JR Pass so that its active on the 15th for our return, since some of us will be around as early as the 8th and would like to maximize the use of it.
