Looking for restaurant recommendation near shibuya for a birthday

Looking for quality restaurant in Shibuya for a special birthday

I’m planning a birthday weekend at shibuya and I’m looking for a quality restaurant in the area for special birthday celebration with my SO. I’ve been googling for 2 days but all of my finds fizzled out for one way or another

What I’m looking for :

– open on Sunday evening
– price range up to 10-15k yen per person
– having a tasting course or omakase course is preferred but not a must
– relaxed romantic atmosphere OR spectacle
– NOT French (we had that last year)
– doesn’t have to be Japanese food

Things I’ve found interesting but didn’t work out :

Swrl (Mexican food with wine, closes next mont)
Costas (fish fusion, not open on Sunday)

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

  1. You may also want to try asking in /r/Tokyo.

  2. Gonpachi (not the Kill Bill one, sadly) is nice and very walkable from Shibuya Station. They’ve got open floor seating, semi-private booths and private rooms.

The rooms are nice but the view is kinda meh. I’d recommend doing a booth as they’re pretty quiet + have a great view of the city (I think it’s on the 14th or 15th storey). IIRC, you can book a reservation online but you might have to call after to specify a window table.

  3. You said not French, but have you been to Florilège? It’s not particularly French, more French inspired – the decor certainly isn’t “I’m in a French restaurant”. Best restaurant in Shibuya area probably. Might be tough to get a reservation these days though.
