How can I tell if spicy tuna rolls are spoiled?

I ordered Spicy Tuna Rolls, and it was delivered to my home about an hour ago. I can’t tell if it’s safe to eat. I just would like to know what I should be looking for my lunch today, and in the future. That way I don’t have to keep worrying about it. Feel free to ignore the rest, it’s just the characteristics.

I don’t believe the rice is crumbly but there’s a few grains that came off. The rice is not hard. I put my nose to the containers, and I didn’t smell anything offensive. Sometimes I catch a whiff while when sitting up straight, but it’s probably from my fingers. When I put my face to the container again it barely smells like anything.

I’m mainly concerned about the “springiness” of the rolls. When I press hard on the tuna in one of my pieces, it springs up, but not the whole way. The same thing happens when I squish the rice, but it’s not mushy. When I ate some of the rolls, the fish felt very soft. I’m not sure if it’s too soft, being closer to mushy. But it doesn’t taste much different from when I usually order it. I’ve been googling instead of eating and that’s my problem.

I know this is long winded, but my OCD and emetophobia is getting the best of me as of currently.

  1. If you don’t smell anything funky with your nose right up close then you’re fine. Fish is very obviously gross smelling when it goes bad. I would recommend trying a different sushi place as it seems this place is not great at making rolls though.

  2. If you have a doubt, don’t eat it. Simple as that. With raw fish you’d rather throw away 10-15$ than end up shitting stuff you’ve eaten 7 years ago

  3. THe fish felt soft because you got a spicy tuna roll, which is small chucks of tuna instead of a piece of tuna fish. Just a guess.
