I apologize if this question has been asked already, I’m currently a 3rd Year 1st Semester studying in Japan. Im currently in the internship phase of the Shukatsu callander and Ive been looking around the creative industries and media sectors. So far, I have had zero luck. My greatest fear is that my inability to get an internship now reflects my inability to get a job later on so I’m feeling kind of desperate. I would be greatful for any tips or advice? Is SPI really that important?

I feel that internships aren’t really big thing in Japan in the first place. But that said, if your peers are getting internships in the same industry that you’re aiming for, I would start getting concerned. Are you significantly better or worst than your peers? What do you think is preventing you from getting a internship?
