Need advice on working visa

Hi folks, thank you all for providing your two cents!

Here’s a short background: I relocated here with my wife from Singapore, work visa is valid for one year (engineering type visa). My job scope changed quite significantly 3 months after moving here so I’m thinking of changing jobs.

My Visa agent isn’t helping much as there is a conflict of interest with my existing company, so I’m here to seek some advice.

Here are my questions:

1. For my existing work visa, is it transferable between companies?
2. If I work REMOTELY here in Japan for a Singapore-based company, am I still allowed to stay here in Japan until my Visa expires?
3. If I quit my job without finding a new job, what happens to my Visa?
4. If I quit my job or change job, do I need to inform anyone?

Not sure if anyone else has come across this. Would love some advice!!

  1. 1. Yes as long as the job falls under the same category

    2. No, you need a domestic sponsor in some ways.

    3. Legally, immigration can start the procedures to revoke your visa after 3 months. Realistically, you may be able to stay until your visa expire but it depends on if you’re searching for another job or just waiting it out and doing nothing.

    4. Immigration. Within 14 days if memory serves right.
