Sure, obviously Tokyo, Kyoto or any urban city and the areas around them are going to be expensive. But what about the areas *away* from them, like northern Japan (excluding Hokkaido), Kyuushuu, or Shikoku?
It might defeat the point of moving to Japan if it is not the center for some people, but would the prices not be more reasonable?
