Take your ATM card and withdraw money after arriving.
Otherwise, [ninja currency exchange](https://www.interbank.co.jp/ninja/) has been recommended as having decent rates. They’re in Tokyo but you didn’t mention where you are.
Are there even any Vietnamese host clubs in Tokyo?
Take crisp new 1man notes and go to jewelry stores in hanoi/hcmc. They will have best xchange rate.
There are some youtube videos showing this.
> cheapest place/way to exchange Yen for Vietnamese Dong.
By far, Vietnam.
True for most currencies, it’s cheaper to exchange those in their respective country.
The rates are usually pretty terrible if you try to do it at a currency exchange in Japan.
ATM or a currency exchange after you arrive. (Preferably only a small amount at the airport if the rates are bad there).
Vietnam.
1. throw some money on revolut
2. go to one of the ATMs at the airport when you land
3. insert physical revolut card
4. take out cash
5. profit!
I need to exchange some VND for Yen!
My Dong is in my bank account in Vietnam tho…
I don’t know the exchange rate but you can use Revolut and exchange it on that app. For me this is the best exchange rates
On the street in Vietnam. And don’t get very much. You’ll never get rid of it the other way.
In shinjuku, there are plenty of exchange offices, pick the one that offers the best rate. I have been to Vietnam 2 weeks ago, some of these offices offer a better rate than what you could find in Vietnam.
I exchanged 1man at the airport, the rate was terrible. When I was in Vietnam and needed some money, I just withdrew from ATM using Japan bank card. ATMs from MB and BIDV will have no problem to process that.
