Now if only my daughter’s nursery allow me to bring her in at 4am.
Earlier!! Earlier!!!!
I wish the trains would not completely shut down between 12~5. A schedule somewhere between NYC’S MTA “you might get a train in 20 minutes; might not get one for 2 hours, but a second one will also come in 2:04” and the down-to-the-second of most Japanese rail lines is all I’m asking. Just one train every 30 minutes or so…
Even a “this section will be closed on xx day for inspection/repair” would be better, since it could be planned around.
This heat gives me motivation to turn on the air conditioner when working from home.
I used to take my dog out at 5 am so he don’t burn his pawns. The amount of people doing the same is very high! Dog die anyway: now I sleep.
Agreed. I tend to get up earlier this time of year so I don’t have to run in the heat, and even then in the early morning I am still sweating bullets. I will say though, the heat has significantly had an impact on my running stamina for the better, despite feeling horrible while pushing through it.
….. Do you get to **go home earlier** tho??
Or are you stuck at work until your usual time is up?? Lmao
Flex time is the best thing that ever happened to me (after work from home).
I start working at 6, finish at 14:30 then I get the whole afternoon to do gardening, go to the pool and enjoy a cold beer before the sun goes down.
The typical 10-19 workday is depressing as fuck, you finish work after the sun sets most of the year.
I will have to walk my son to his summer school program daily from next week, it’s over 30 minutes one way and I can drop him off from 8 in the morning. Not looking forward to it and I wish it was from 7 or something. And I’m not an early bird either.
I’ve been doing this for a while– it’s great. I normally take 6 am train and start work at 7 am and finish at 4 pm. I arrive back home at a little after 5pm. Temp is moderate when I’m out, and the train is way less crowded.
Give it a shot, you may also like it.
I recently went full ojiasan and got an ice vest with pockets for refreezable ice packs. Its good for about an hour and a half so it should help at least with morning commutes or going to the market and back
I wish Japan had summer time. dark at 8 in summer feels weird.
It is great to hear that your workplace allows you to adjust to your schedule. I also wake up early these days, and I work out every day in the early morning.
Most days I wake up at 4 to beat the heat, either go to the allotment, go for an hour walk or go to the gym. Going to the gym around 4 to 5 by the time I finish maybe one more person has entered. It’s great when u have the gym to yourself
I heard that having some ayran help.
It’s motivated me to go for early morning runs. Still hot as hell at 6:00am.
The heat gives me motivation to drink more water.
Stay hydrated bestiessss
Just wait until mid summer when the heat and humidity goes up when the sun goes down.
Been working from home for 25 years. Yeah, I pay for my own aircon but it’d be worth it at twice the price.
