Hi! I’m moving to Japan in a year for uni and was wondering if there’s any train passes that you pay for monthly in Chiba region? In my country we have one that you pay monthly and can use on all transports within that area so I’m not sure if japan has it. If so, how much is it monthly?
And another question, if said train pass was for Chiba, could I travel from Chiba to Tokyo with it? If not what are the best options for train passes for someone who loves in Chiba but has to go to Tokyo often? (My roommate’s uni will be in tokyo)

the pass is based on your commuting stations, so let say your commuting stations is staion B to Station K, so you buy pass based on that stations. Any station between B and K is covered by the pass. Station not between B-K, you will have to pay extra.
So if you travel to Tokyo using your commuting pass, you will have to pay the extra difference fare not covered by the commuting pass.
use [hyperdia](https://www.hyperdia.com/) to roughly check your commuting pass fare. Just input your start and destination station, then check the price.
use google map to search for station names.
