Best job prospects for a livable wage to support a family in Japan that are not English teaching and require little Japanese fluency.

I work in education in the United States and we live with my wife’s parents In Yokohama during the summer when school is out. My wife’s mom was recently diagnosed with cancer and as her parents both get older and need more help, I have a feeling my wife will want to move home to take care of her parents.

I am a school counselor with a master’s in education and TESOL certification, however I do not really want to work in education in Japan as the pay seems to be quite low. We have 2 kids (5 and 3) and my wife is pregnant with twins, so we will have 4 kids to support, so having a decent paying career is important. I am thinking that earning a certification in coding/IT or something similar might qualify me for tech jobs where business English is primarily used.

Any suggestions on potential career opportunities in tech or another field that might be worth looking into? I actually have a cert in digital marketing science and run a small web design/SEO business on the side, so tech seems like a natural next step, but I’m open to whatever possibilities would enable me to earn a decent salary (around $80k US minimum I would guess). My Japanese is quite limited (probably beginner N4 level). What would be the most realistic career prospects to look into? Thanks!
