I’ve recently switched from Mac to Windows and I can’t seem to find a way to auto-convert hiragana to kanji with the IME keyboard. Is there a way to do this?
For me when I type hiragana a popup is near the cursor with kanji suggestions. If hit the down key on the keyboard it selects different elements from the list of suggestions. Are you not seeing that?
You type in Hiragana and then you hit the space bar which will convert it to Kanji. Hitting the space bar multiple times will cycle through the entire list of conversions that IME suggests. You don’t need to do it after every Kanji, you can write a whole sentence before converting but then you need to use the arrow keys to switch around if a word in the sentence wasn’t converted to the Kanji you want.
