When you’ve got a gate up but rest of the walls haven’t been finished in Age of Empires
OK, technically this would count as *Inaka* but it’s not, you know, really rural. All modern houses and relatively high population density but with some farmland. The real *Inaka* in Japan is a much lower population density, a higher percentage of traditional style homes, and almost all the farmland is given over to rice paddies. Which describes 80% of the country. These photos are just past the suburbs.
