Is dospara a good tech store ?

I just bought a few items from them and afterwards, heard a few not so good comments about them so i was wondering if they are a legit and high status company that cares for their customers.

  1. I’ve never had a problem with them. They’re a great place to sell parts you no longer need, too.

  2. They are basically my go to in Japan. You were speaking to a… Well lets charitably say a misinformed person.

That said though I have never needed anything like after sales support or advice so I cannot comment on that front.

  3. no issues, have been buying stuff from them for years. their cheap HDDs are usually bulk class with 30 days “store warranty” but that’s explained ahead of time. anyway, legit shop, decent prices, no complaints.

  4. They are a reputable company, always catering to the hobbyist for decades which I really like.

  5. TLDR, Yes, I think dospara is a good tech store, fair prices for used parts.

I bought my whole computer setup there last year. Before that, I was using my gaming laptop to do all my video/photo editing. I was really missing my old desktop pc, which was too big and heavy to bring over to Japan.

I am a huge computer nerd, and I’ve built my share of desktop PCs. So, I was trying to price everything out so I could build another gaming/editing machine here in Japan. I was trying to get used/new parts off Mercari and also checking prices and deals off kakaku.com and amazon. I also went to all the computer shops near my area. Without paying too much attention to the names of the shops, I consistently found fair prices for used parts at dospara.

I ended up in dospara price checking on Amazon’s black friday week. It looked like I was their only customer they had during amazon’s sale. I ended up finding a screaming deal while trying to price everything out. All of their gaming desktop PCs were on sale for another 15% off their already fair prices for their used gaming PCs. Pricing everything out, it was actually cheaper than if I was going to buy everything separately (used)/new and built it myself. Not to mention, I wouldn’t get any warranty if I bought everything used off Mercari, and it would take time to arrive. At least buying from from dospara, they’re already tested all the parts, and I would get some warranty with the store. I paid 155,000 from their sale price of 179,000

They even shipped the product to home for free, which only took 2 days.

I went back to the shop a month later, and every used desktop gaming pc with the 3060 ti or 3070 was all sold out. I guess I got really lucky with the timing being at the right place at the right time. Also they funny thing was the pc with the exact same specs ended up selling for around 200,000 yen on Mercari so if I had wanted to flip the pc, I might have made some money (10% Mercari fee and the shipping cost might not be worth it.)

I normally like to build my own pc, but this time, I was under a much tighter budget. I ended buying a pre-build since it was just 10-15% cheaper if I were to buy all the parts separately and used.

Thanks for reading. Yes, dospara was a great find for me in Japan

  6. I’ve been using DOSPara for maybe 20 years with no problems. The last desktop box I got from them I bought in 2016: it *may* have had a bum CD-/DVD-player, but I don’t think I ever tired it until maybe five years after I’d bought the computer, so it may not have been a problem with the build.

  7. Bought 3 PCs from them over the course of 15 years and never had a problem with any of them.

  8. Dospara, Tsukumo and Sofmap are my holy trinity for new PC parts in Japan, and Dospara is frankly my favorite. They offer good prices – usually when shopping around for something I end up buying from them because their offer will be the cheapest. I also enjoy the no-frills design of their stores which appeals to the basic PC nerd in me.

So yeah, if you’re shopping for PC parts, absolutely do go to Dospara. They’re good.

  9. I bought all of my PCs and Pc parts from them over the past decade
They’re great. Nothing much else to say
