Itinerary Check for 14 days (Tokyo -> Kyoto -> Osaka -> Hiroshima) 8/9-8/23

Hi All,

My fiancé and I (28 and 27 years old) will be travelling to Japan for 14 days from 8/9-8/23. We have booked our JR pass as well as reservations for all the longer train rides we will be taking.

Our priorities:

\- Trying all the food Japan has to offer (yakitori, sushi, soba, udon, ramen, yakiniku, gyoza etc.) Unfortunately my fiancé doesn’t eat beef or pork

\- Sight seeing and exploring areas (while trying to stay cool).

\- We both love to shop for clothes and cool items/trinkets, not huge into Anime.

\- I am also allergic to alcohol so our nightlife will ideally be filled with arcades and games/entertainment, any recs for nightlife would be greatly appreciated.

Best tips to stay cool in the heat? Any festivals that we should be aware of? I know about the holiday, but haven’t really considered how much it will effect our itinerary.

Bonus points if you can recommend a pork tonkatsu restaurant that also serves options my fiancé could eat!

Please let me know what you think and if you have any food recommendations!
