Part-Time in Japan any good?

Hey everyone,
I’m an exchange student and I will stay in Japan until the next month. Since the classes are over I started to look for a part-time job and I ended up finding one. I still have to travel a bit but at the same time I want to improve my language skill. I found job in a restaurant and I was wondering if it will be good as work experience and, also, for improving my japanese speaking skills.
The job offer is 1.1k yen per hour.

  1. For a month? They’re going to be pretty upset when you leave that quickly I’d imagine. Did you tell the restaurant you only want to work for a month? That’s up to you though. Of course interacting with people can help your Japanese. Maybe it’s better to privately “teach” English by conversation for a couple weeks instead? You can do it easily for more than that job will pay.

The only other thing to mind is do you have the stamp for permission to work part time on your residence card? If you don’t have that you cannot work legally and it takes a month to get the stamp.
