hey guys. i do not know whether this question is an easy one but i am a bit worried. I am buying a second hand car from a car dealer and they asked me to transfer the money to a bank account. I got all the details and i will be transferring about 2 million yen. Can i just go to the counter at any bank and ask to transfer this amount? is there any fees with this type of payment? thank you

Yes, there are fees at most banks, but there may not be any if you go to a branch of the bank to which you’ll be transferring the money.
Do you have a Japanese bank account? Domestic transfers are very common and you can do them from a bank machine and, depending on the bank, online. It’s called [furikomi](https://bestlivingjapan.com/bank-transfer-furikomi-in-japan/) in Japanese.
Fees are a couple hundred yen at most.
Note that 2 million yen is probably more than the allowed daily limit so the bank might also ask you to do some extra admin / paperwork.
yes, we bought a new car a few months ago and there’s a limit to how much you can transfer at a time unless you adjust your account settings… had to before we did the transfer
