Good flask/water bottle brands?

I don’t think buying several plastic water bottles per day for a year is an economical strategy so does anyone have recommendations on what brands are seen as the best here in terms of keeping things cold? Akin to Hydroflask/Yetis.

  1. I just bought a basic one from don quihote. It’s 1.75L I filled it with ice last night filled it twice today with a drink and it’s still half full of ice. The biggest loss is because the ice is small and is coming through the hole when I’m drinking

  2. Any vacuum insulated bottle by a name brand will keep things cool / hot. Just pick based on how you like your nozzle, appearance, price, etc.

Brands that already sell other items that would require insulation are a good start.

I’ve had (and lost) a few different brands, such as Thermos, Zojirushi, Tiger, etc. They all work to keep a drink cold all day long.

Bonus tip, if you go to electonics stores (maybe home centers, but I had better luck at electronics stores), you can try to find “display units” for like half price of new.

  3. As others said any Japanese are ok. I like tiger because I can buy the spare parts online

  4. Any insulated bottle by Zojirushi or Tiger. The former is better (inner surfaces are usually coated rather than plain stainless), but both are good.

Avoid Thermos. Had too many leaky bottles and lunch boxes from them.

  5. Anyone knows where to find NON insulated steel bottles? I dont need insulation, rather have some more volume, but all i find are tons of insulated bottles

  6. Had a Hydroflask, had a Yeti, then when they both dented I realized I was carrying around a heavy, expensive, bottle just to keep room temperature water room temperature.

Luckily I got them both at REI so I returned them and replaced it with a Nalgene. Been over 6 years by now and I’ve taken it every where, every day, and I don’t see me having to replace it any time soon. Can’t recommend it enough.

  7. I love my contigo brand water bottles made from metal. They never get bacteria or off & I’ve used them for 5+ years. Doesn’t keep things cold in particular though.
