COE / figuring out your company’s category

Hi guys,

My company submitted COE application early June and told me that it would take about 8-9 weeks. It has been 9 weeks and I still haven’t gotten mine and getting bit nervous. HR said waiting is all we can do and if COE gets delayed more, they can push the start date a bit later. It is a pretty big foreign company and have hired many foreigners before – I also believe they work with 3rd party lawyers to apply COE.

I’m wondering if there is a way or a website to figure out the ‘category’ of a company. I’m sure I could ask HR directly but I don’t want to be rude…

I tried to see if there is any similar post like this from movingtojapan but couldn’t find it. thanks guys

  2. Japan is being inundated with applications right now. My wife’s nearly took 12 weeks to arrive but it will

  3. The Canadian Japanese Consulate Visa website says 3-4 months for a COE application. Mine took 3 months when I applied in February.
