Hello everyone, I’d like to know how far all the newbies are with preparations? I’m still running around and sorting my life out before I leave. When will schools reopen in August after the holidays?
Depends on your school/region. In Hokkaido we start up the 3rd week of August, but I think a lot of schools in the south don’t start until September
Where I am, opening ceremony for second semester will be around August 25th. Actual classes will likely start the w/c August 28th.
Kochi here, September 1 is our opening ceremony.

Our has been sept 1st as the first day back. I banked on that and planned a trip only to learn the 3rd years would be back august 20th 🫠 Don’t make the same mistake I did 😭
It depends on the school! For me in Shiga the opening ceremony is on August 28th!
I would make sure to not book any trips for August (if you were looking to) until you know your schedule! You’ll also probably be busy setting up your life here for the first week or two anyways!
