SHIPPING GAMING PC FROM JAPAN TO UNITED STATES (.help)

I am reaching out because I have a damaged gaming PC. And, I am looking to have shipped back to the US. Last time I experienced a shipping from the US to Japan like this, it damaged the water cooling system. This is my brother’s PC rig and I am generally unknowledgeable regarding the topic, and wanted to inquire if anyone had any recommendations concerning safe shipping, the cost? What to do…. any other advice I could ask regarding getting it home. Thank you so much for your time and patient and please have a great day.

  1. I’ve never done it but I recommend just shipping the internals and buy a new case in the US.

  2. Ditch the case, pack all the components separately and nicely and re-assemble it on the other end.

That’s what I did for my PC years ago.

  3. Pull anything heavy from the case graphics card, cooling, wrap it seperatly, original packaging if possible. Computer needs thick styrofoam or foam.

It’s usually not worthwhile shipping the case though

  4. As others have said, don’t ship it assembled. Take everything apart, package them very carefully, and ship it in pieces. A water cooled system will not survive the trip.

  5. So why exactly do you need to ship it to the US? What are you trying to accomplish by doing this? Are you leaving Japan for good or something?

  6. Can’t recommend shipping it, although I have travelling with my gaming pc as check baggage at least 4 times with no issue. I took the gpu out and stuffed the pc with bubble wrap. No issues
