For context;
I have applied for a language school for a 2 year course about two times in my life, once in 2022 in which case my CoE got accepted without any issues. In this case I opted not to use/go to Japan because of personal matters at the time in which I felt was not a good time in my life to go. In April of 2023 I applied again to a different language school and am currently communicating with the school via a consultant in my country who aids Japanese people who come in Canada for work or school, as well as aids Canadians who want to work/study in Japan.
Unfortunately, I was informed just recently that my CoE was denied because of a mistake that I made in regards to my application. In the application there was a section about past experiences applying for CoE and I for some reason marked that I never applied for a CoE in the past. Understandably immigration has record of my past application from 2022 and denied my CoE this time around because it of course looks bad that I said I never applied when according to them I did.
I am so terribly disappointed by this massive mistake that I made had I just looked and went through my application more thoroughly and I without a doubt recognize that this is 100% my fault and I really should not have been so careless considering that Japan is strict when it comes to immigration laws.
The reason I am posting is because the school I am applying to is going to take awhile to get back to me about what can happen. I asked if I was able to still apply for April 2024 enrollment however, the person at the school told me it is going to have to be discussed with the principal who is on a business trip at the moment but they told me that cases where someone is denied by immigration usually they don’t accept them into the school however, they still have to discuss with the principal. I guess I am just panicking a bit because I am not sure what is going to happen from here on out since I am not going to know my answer for some time and April 2024 enrollment ends sometime at the end of the year.
Will this effect my application to other language schools in Japan? Will I be able to apply to any language school in Japan for April 2024?
Thank you.

**CoE Denied for October 2023 Enrollment**

As far as i Know you need to wait at least 6 months to try again
But im not sure about it
Were you/your school told by immigration services that the incorrect declaration in that field was the specific reason for denial (usually the applicant or the sponsor would have to physically visit the Immigration Services Bureau to confirm the specific reason for denial)? Or is this a guess as to the circumstances for the denial?
Did you make sure to return your previous COE from 2022 to immigration services after it became clear to you that you would not be using it?
Past COE applications as well as other immigration related applications will stay on your record, and having been denied in the past will definitely get your application looked at more carefully for future applications, and depending on the reason for the denial, they may be more reluctant to trust you again. It does not necessarily mean you will not be able to eventually get a status granted, but I think you and your (future) sponsor should be careful about it and possibly look to provide more background to previous applications with your next application.
This looks very simple. What you’ve done looks exactly like you were attempting to commit immigration fraud.
Also, you said that you applied for a COE last year. Was that COE’s expiry date still valid when you applied for a *second* COE, and/or had you already explicitly told immigration here to cancel that first COE?
Again, you can normally only have one valid COE at a time.
By attempting to apply for a second COE, it looks like you’re trying to get two people in under the same identity.
