  1. Since the most of your stuff is happening on day 1 I’d rather stay in Ueno for shorter commutes, Asakusa is a walkable distance if you don’t have any health issues.

Consider getting an esim from the likes of ubigi. Portable wifi is just one more device to keep charged.

  2. For Kyoto, you missed Kiyomizudera ! Even though it is a bit crowded, it is a must see. If you want something more peaceful then go to the silver temple and the philosophers walk (don’t tell many people because it’s a secret).

Also Behind todaiji in Nara is nigatsudo ! A hidden secret that gives a wonderful view of Nara, right up to the mountain range

Going to arashiyama in the morning then heading out to Nara is tough (I lived in Nara and Kyoto for around 7 years). You should spend 1 day in Nara just walking around and split the day in Arashiyama up with kiyomizudera

Also you can cut the Kyoto railway museum and go to the JR one in Tokyo (actually Saitama). That will save time and open up more time for Kyoto
