I have noticed a small liter of kittens suddenly roaming around

I have seen 5 so far, a pure black kitten, and 4 silver kittens. I have only seen them at 9pm or later and haven’t seen them during the day. Yesterday I saw the 4 silver kittens entering the water drainage holes. Tonight while taking out the garbage I nearly punt the black kitten because he wasn’t moving and was hiding in a dark shadowy area.

I’m concerned that the kittens are strays and might end up as road kill. But I don’t want to randomly catnap someone’s pets. I’m a bit dubious that they’re pets though because they were still outside when I went out at 10 and who would leave a kitten outside that late.

So what should I do, try to grab the 5 and surrender them to a vet, or pretend that I don’t see them?

  1. A location would be helpful, it is kitten season though.

    Contact https://japancatnetwork.org/

You can also try to capture them and rehome them, just make sure to contact a nearby koban first in case someone is missing a litter of kittens. A vet isn’t going to do anything. You can also contact your city since they often have trap neuter release groups they work with to handle strays.

  2. Almost guaranteed they are strays. Contact local rescues or Japan Cat Network (they have a facebook) to find some volunteers to come trap them and spay the mother cat if possible. I’m unfortunately very far from you or I would help myself.
