Hello all! Taking a 12-day trip end of September into 1st week October. Hoping to catch changing leaves in Daisetsuzan, and take a sweeping overview of places that appealed to us to adventure in as a couple!
Day 1 (Mon): Arrive to Tokyo; fly straight to Sapporo.
– Eat at autumn festival (any recommendations on place (private room) to stay nearby?)
– Sleep a lot.
Day 2: Sapporo to nearer Daisetsuzan
– rent car; drive toward Daisetsuzan. Stay in Asakihawa or nearby.
Day 3: Ropeway (cable car) ride over Daisetsuzan; enjoy foliage
– Time permitting, explore on foot and in car as well.
– End of day, return car to Sapporo; sleep there.
Day 4: Fly south to Kansai, then bus to Koya-san. Sleep there.
Day 5: Explore Koya-san
– Hoping to enjoy Tsukimi??
Day 6: to Kyoto via Osaka. Settle in.
Day 7: Guided tour of Kyoto, or exploration on foot
– Kurama to kibune hike looks very appealing – any opinions on this?
Day 8: AM Kyoto, PM to Fuji area – have not yet decided which area, but basically want a comfortable stay, Fuji view, and pretty scenery, not too long to travel to/from.
Day 9: Fuji area to Tokyo; itinerary tbd
Days 10-12: Tokyo
Additional question is a common one: are we trying to fit too much in?
Thank y’all in advance!!
And edited bc I accidentally made some crazy formatting when I copied over from OneNote.
