I will be staying for 3 nights.
**Shin-Toyosu**
Pros:
* Gorgeous views from the hotel room of the Tokyo skyline. I love views!
* Very clean and modern rooms. Great bathroom with a deep ofuro.
* Near Toyosu and Tsukiji fish market (on my list)
* Nice train commute into the city on the Yurikamome line.
Cons:
* Very quiet area. I’m going to be a female solo traveller. Literally no one is around in the evenings. Concerned about the walk between the hotel and the train station in evenings or early in the morning. But I might get a taxi to mitigate that.
* No shops or restaurants around. Only a Lawson nearby.
**Tokyo Station**
Pros:
* Hotel is RIGHT next to Tokyo station. I will be arriving via Shinkansen from Kyoto around 8:30pm. So I feel safe commuting by myself in such a busy area.
* Lots of shops, restaurants all around me, especially with the underground mall.
* Easy to commute to Narita when I need to leave to catch my flight back.
Cons:
* Hotel has no views whatsoever, as it’s within a sidestreet. I love having a nice view from my hotel – it’s something I really look forward to and prioritise.
* Feels a bit dingy and cramped inside. Interior is acceptable but not as nice as the Shin-Toyosu station hotel.
Thoughts?

Why not somewhere like Shinagawa?
Pretty decent hotels in the area with a good skyline view and if you’re lucky a view of Tokyo tower. Surrounded by restaurants. On a good train line that’s easy to get to all areas of Tokyo.
It really boils down to if you want convenience go with Tokyo, if you want views then go with Shin-Toyosu. But even a hotel in nearby Odaiba would have great views of the water/rainbow bridge and is populated.
When it comes to safety either location is probably equal tbh. Just practice good safety protocols. Be aware of your surroundings, don’t walk around with headphones in etc. and you should be fine. I never felt unsafe as a female walking around. Not to say there isn’t danger out there, but it’s not too bad.
How much language do you have? If you have a lot then I would stay by Tokyo station.
I honestly don’t recommend staying anywhere in that odaiba area because it’s just gonna cost you extra time to get anywhere else in tokyo outside of that specific area. I generally like to stay somewhere along the Yamanote line, and usually preferably in places that are “hubs”. Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ikebukuro, Shinagawa, etc. Tokyo station is fine too.
Yurikamome is a separate line that costs more money and you would have to do multiple transfers to get into the city. In my opinion, it’s not worth the extra transit time and subway fees it would cost to stay near Shin-Toyosu. It is worth riding the Yurikamome though for the views if you’re going to Odaiba or something
My company’s office is in toyosu, long story short, I would also echo probably better to stay near Tokyo station.
You can model the transit time, but Odaiba is typically very inconvenient for tourism.
The other issue is nightlife. If you plan on staying out late after transit closes, you really want your hotel to be close to wherever you’re going to be. Taxis are $$$
I personally would choose the Tokyo Station location, after all, how much time do you think you will want to spend looking out the window, when you have the whole of Tokyo to explore?
