Hello, a group of my friends (a total of 7) and I are trying to get an airbnb in Tokyo to be near everything but I also would like to be in proximity to a beach that’s not an hour+ away. I’ve been trying to do my research on beaches near Tokyo that are clear and clean looking but they’re so far and that’s going to be dreadful traveling that far for a beach every other day. Is their a city I could stay in that has the best of both worlds or a beach that has clear water and is clean, close to Tokyo? I don’t mind traveling 30 minutes to the beach via train but anything more than that will be a hassle.

It could take you 30 min to get to some sites in Tokyo even while staying in Tokyo, depending on where you are.
Realistically you would have to eat the travel time or stay somewhere like Yokohama. From Yokohama, Chigasaki beach is a reasonable distance.
The main beach that everyone goes to that’s closest to Tokyo is Koshigoe Beach in Kamakura/Enoshima. But it definitely takes a hour plus to get there on the rapid express.
There’s always Odaiba beach if you really wanna be in the center of Tokyo and be at a beach in 30 mins.
Tokyo isn’t a beach Destination unfortunately
I mean Tokyo isn’t exactly a small, sleepy coastal town with plenty of unused coastal space…
There’s a 1km beach called Odaiba Beach in Tokyo, other than that, Enoshima would probably be your best option.
The locals I stayed with said they often go to Zushi Beach in Kanagawa.
