Last year, I received 2 points and a 6000 fine for a traffic violation.
Will this affect my visa extension process for my Engineer/Specialist visa, which has a 3-year term? Should I mention it in the visa extension application form?
Is there a chance that I might only be granted a 1-year visa extension due to the traffic violation?
Any opinions would be appreciated.

Visa renewal? Probably not.
PR? You better provide a pretty good explanation in your personal statement.
2 points won’t stop your visa from getting renewed.
Number of years seems to be a crap-shoot.
You’ll want to get the points off your license before you apply for PR.
Do not worry about it. I had traffic violations between each visa renewal and never had any problems renewing it.
