  1. > 左目の世界…それが僕という存在を**忽せる**。

ゆるが appeared as furigana for 忽.

JMdict recognizes 忽せ as “negligent” or “careless,” but it doesn’t recognize 忽せる (and I couldn’t find anything on it via Google either). So what is 忽せる?

(What I think it’s saying) The world through my left eye 忽せる my existence.

  2. I love to read and want to start to challenge myself with some Japanese novels or manga since it has pictures, but not sure where the best place to buy them is. I’ve seen previous posts about this from a few years back but wanted to know if they are any new online stores or which is the best currently. I live in the US if that matters at all.

Also I’ve gotten two different books from others, one where the kanji has hirigana definition next to the kanji, and one that doesn’t. Is there a way to know if it will have the hirigana translation next to it?

Also I want to start listening to some Japanese podcasts that aren’t too advanced, my sensei recommended me some but they are 4 minutes long, I’m looking for something that might be closer to 1-2 hours that I can listen to as I do work

  3. Would 晩秋でないと都合がわるい here mean that it wouldn’t be convenient/wouldn’t work well for the purposes of the ghost story if it wasn’t a late autumn night? (The bolded part is meta/breaking the fourth wall?)

    もう 一つよくある怪談にこういうのがある。新入生が気味のわるい男と同室になる。 その男は顔はモヤシより青ざめ、滅多に口をきかない。 ある晩秋の夜**ーーおそらく月が照っていて夜気がひえびえとしていなければならないので晩秋でないと都合がわるいーー**新入生はふと目をさます。
