The MoJ publishes a quarterly report of processing times (https://www.moj.go.jp/isa/publications/materials/nyuukokukanri07_00140.html). Processing times for new dependent visa applications in the last four quarters were: 38.7, 45.0, 47.2, and 53.1 days (April-June 2023). So they’re taking longer.
yes they are taking longer than usual right now. know someone in a similar situation. i’ve heard anywhere from 50-70 days right now.
Applied for my wife’s COE on June 30, still waiting….
Yes, my immigration lawyer said they were utterly swamped during the summer and now working through their backlog. My COE took 77 days and it was a very simple case. They seem to be picking up the pace now!
