I’ve been a lurker for awhile and have found so many helpful tips so far on this subreddit. My boyfriend (29M) and I (29F) are taking our first trip to Japan in a few weeks and I’m hoping for some last minute feedback on our itinerary! This will be our first big vacation together and my first time travelling internationally so it’s been a bit overwhelming but very exciting.
With travel days, our trip is 14 days long. We are overall most interested in trying all the food and we also like to drink (esp sake/whiskey), and my boyfriend is a big fan of anime and manga. We are hoping to see as much as possible but also don’t want to plan too much and are okay with wandering and exploring a bit. I have over 120 pins saved in my google maps right now.. so any help on if we have too much planned on any particular day or what things we may be able to cut or rearrange if needed would be helpful. We are going in with the mindset of having things planned but not needing to stick exactly to an itinerary if we get tired. Thanks in advance!
We are also still figuring out whether or not to buy the JR Pass (would buy before price increase). One 3xpeirnece I don’t have yet but would also love to add if room is a whiskey tasting!

October 14 – keep in mind that Omoide yokocho and the metropolitan building are in a similar ish area.
October 18 – definitely Senso-ji over sky tree. If you guys drink, grab a drink at the Asahi HQ on the top floor. You get really good views of the area.
Kyoto – your Kyoto days are extremely packed, and may not be feasible. Plot Kyoto attractions on a map and pick an area.
Are you not wanting to go to Nara ?
