A while ago a police guy visited me and asked if anything has changed in the neighborhood recently, if there are any issues at night like loud motorcyclists and asked me to fill 警視庁巡回連絡カード.
I have been living here for five years and this is the first time this has happened. I recently moved to 田舎 area in Tokyo itself.
Anyone also had this experience?

This is the weekly “Police came to my apartment thread”?
Yes it’s normal. Yes people have had this experience.
It’s just standard so they know who lives where in case of an emergency like an earthquake.
[Yes, it is common.](https://www.reddit.com/r/japanlife/comments/e2xcdg/police_visit_while_i_wasnt_home/)

Very common and normal.
It seems that there are threads here asking about this a couple of times a month.
hello OP
why did you not use the search function
why
Seems like the police are doing their job!
Do they just knock on your door and ask you to fill out the form?
I’m a foreigner living in Japan so I don’t know that this is a normal stuff a bit nerve racking experience though.
Fucking hate my neighborhood being safe, goddamn it.
