I recently moved to Tokyo and really want to join a band. I searched on Oursounds but didn’t find much which would align with my music taste. So where do you search for bands or for band members in Tokyo? Are there other websites or ways of searching (bars where I can meet musicians etc.)? I’d like to play bluesrock, classic rock, soul or something like that.

My advice is just type “ find music events in tokyo japan” and then look for links to smaller local events. Or if you have suburbs picked out search on those. The Japanese are incredibly web savvy and promoting even little events is the norm (I have found personally). Have fun!

Respond to fliers in your local practice spaces. Leave your own fliers. Both have worked for me.
I’ve seen a few posts of bands looking for members/people looking for bands on Tokyo craigslist … never used myself though, so unsure how “legit” it is
