18th birthday solo trip- January, 15 Days Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Narita

hello again travelers, for my birthday I’m solo traveling to Japan. I’ve posted on this subreddit b4 but have since revised my itinerary and am looking for feedback. It’s my first time to Japan and I’m really excited.

**flights and hotels already booked and paid for.** attractions and hotspots are yet to be booked bc its too far out.

I’ve done customs online so I’m hoping its a breeze when I’m there.

**I’m just going to do Tokyo here**. will edit with links once I post the other itineraries.

**Ive seen a lot of people being called crazy because they block their schedule (by hour), I’ve done the same.** I will say that I’m not going to be strict on myself, I’ve allocated a lot of leeway time for transportation, and getting lost.

thank you for everyones help!

  1. Just so you know most Japanese people use tabelog for restaurant searches. Google maps would be second. Yelp is not common.

Also it looks like you’re going back to the hotel very early on average. Any reason for this? Japan nightlife and sights look completely different lit up at night so I would hang out a little later

  2. Why are you spending so much time in international food/drink chains? It seems rather a waste.

There’s no reason to withdraw cash twice: Japan is a relatively safe place, and people walk around with a lot of cash often. (As it happens, I was carrying the equivalent of US$1500 on the street just this morning.)
