Hi all. Flying out soon for Tokyo on business and have added a few days on each of the trip for personal touring time. I have been several times in the past but have never done Hakone so want to do that this go around. Just want to double check some things here. I’m planning to go on my first full day. I can’t sleep anyway so figure I’ll just hit the earliest train I feel like taking and go from there. Likely no later than 6AM.
My plan:
\- Minatomirai Station -> Hakone-Yumoto Station. Will probably depart around 6:00AM and arrive around 7:45AM. If I wake up at 3AM like I usually do then I will probably take an even earlier train.
\- I’ve got a general idea of what I want to see and do but given that I’m only going for one day, and that I’m not coming from Tokyo, I’m not sure that the pass is really the best option for me. What is the best way to do this? Pay as I go for bus/train/boat/etc.? Or just go ahead and get the pass for ease of use?

The Odakyu pass “from Odawara” pays for itself if you do the full loop, one day or two days does not matter.
