National Health Insurance – how to pay bill?

Hi! I arrived in japan in the end of september as a student and enrolled in NHI. I was told i would receive the bill in early October by mail but still haven’t gotten it. I have the NHI card, just haven’t paid. My question is, can I still go see a doctor under NHI? thank you!!

  1. I got my bill the exact day that it needed to be paid, aka the end of the month. Be on the lookout with your mail. It might come later, even on the due date.

    Yes you can, just be sure to pay the bill when it does arrive.

  4. Just an fyi you can always just go straight to the city hall and pay your health insurance there.

  5. Yes u can still see a doctor. And how to pay it is simply take it to any convenience store and pay cash. If u still haven’t received it maybe go to your ward and ask
