I live in Tokyo, and I’ve been looking to place my two kids in international schools here. From my experience, it seems like the top ones are extremely competitive to get into, especially when trying to enter in 9th grade. As a back up, I plan to apply to several boarding schools, both inside and outside of Japan.
Does anyone have any recommendations for good resources where I could learn more about the application process for boarding schools, and which ones would be good to apply for? I’m open to paying a service, but if there are any free resources anyone could share that would be great too.

Those poor kids. Good luck to them.
Hey, I know an organization in Tokyo that has a boarding school support service that you would have to pay for, but they also do free events where admissions officers from top schools come and talk about the application process. Choate just did an event with them a couple weeks ago. You can get on a first name basis with the people who will be looking at your kid’s app. I’ll shoot you a dm with some info.
