Long story short, I recently was prescribed prozac, which isnt available but not prohibited in Japan. I already submitted my JET medical form where I denied taking any medications, as I wasn’t prescribed at the time. I know that to bring more than 1 month supply of medication I’d need an important form, but im nervous as this is a government form, this information may make its way to JET and they’ll suspect me of lying on my medical form. Any advice on this topic? Thank you all in advance!

Did you have a recent diagnosis that prompted the new prescription? If so, then you’ll need to inform JET through your consulate. Otherwise I think it shouldn’t be an issue. If you have a condition listed on your medical form that warrants a prozac prescription, they won’t think anything of it.
I recently got a new medication too that I didn’t put on my original form. My consulate was fine with me just submitting a new form. I would just email them and ask, they’ll probably be very understanding.
You email your consulate a revised report of medical history or whatever and then just fill out a Yunyuu kakuninsho to bring more than 1 month supply of meds
Your consulate understands that situations change from the time you apply and depart. It is absolutely fine. They aren’t playing a game of gotcha to disqualify you, especially at this point (they want you to go!).
Reach out to them. Bringing medication to Japan is pretty straightforward. Customs has never even cared to check the paperwork every time I’ve come… I’ve had to beg them to please just LOOK at the forms! Hah
Let your consulate know by email that you received a new diagnosis/a new prescription recently and they’ll walk you through how to update the health forms you’d already submitted
Like others have said, just reach out to your consulate. They’ll help you. It’ll be fine 🙂
On a slightly different note, while you can bring in up to a year’s medication, what do you do after that? Shipping medication gets expensive and difficult. Especially if you think you might stay more than a year, I would recommend talking to your doctor now to try and find a medication available in Japan that will work for you
