Hey, r/JapanTravel.
I (32M) want to do a one month solo trip to Japan in November. I’ve been to Tokyo previously and I liked it a lot, but this time I want to explore other areas.
I like architecture, modern art, science, geek stuff (like video games). I like ancient history a bit less. In most places I plan to stay in capsule hotels and hostels.
I would like to get your feedback on this itinerary. I will be flying from Amsterdam to Osaka and leaving from Tokyo.

A few questions as well:
1. Does it make sense to buy 21 day JR pass for this trip?
2. Where would be a good place to book a ryokan?
3. Am I missing a lot not going north from Tokyo, e.g. Hokkaido?
