Mario Wonder day! Also Spider-Man day! Great day for video games!!!
It’s Friday, I’m WFH today, and it doesn’t seem like there’s gonna be much work on. Planning on taking it pretttyyyy easy.
I find amusement in how the IT guys, who are in the office next to mine, can sound like they’re flipping over tables and shit by how loudly things are getting banged up against the walls and floors, all while they’re yelling at each other, but when I pop over to check on them a few moments later, everyone is sitting calmly at their desks, totally focused on their computers, everything looking like how it’s always been.
also, I’m glad my BF is so straightforward with gifts. we look at things together, he gives me a few options of things he needs, I pick something and confirm with him, and I get him that. he is happy to get something he will actually make use of, and I’m happy to give him something he explicitly wants.
Praise/thanks the the weather gods. Wrapping up four nights in Yakushima, today is flying back home. And tho it’s now cloudy with rain possible, the last three days were perfect.
Super Mario Wonder is amazing. Played for a while in the hotel last night.
Now I’m at my Tokyo office, totally tired. Worth it though! (May also be the jet lag)
Bonus praise: Was able to get tickets to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam for the next day on Saturday by being friendly with the ticket booth people, they told me to come back at 7 pm for cancellation tickets.
We got to the museum, but one of our party felt sick so he stayed behind, so I had an extra ticket. An elderly woman and her husband were looking for 2 tickets, but were desperate, so she bought mine. In a “never would happen in Japan” moment that shocked my Japanese coworkers, the museum staff let both of them in on the single ticket since they were waiting for someone to sell a ticket for so long.
Inside, the staff were great and gave me the answers for the Pokemon quiz, since it was only in Dutch. Unfortunately, since people are fucking assholes at life, they stopped the Pikachu promo card three days before I got to get in, but it’s all good. Still got a free postcard.
It’s friday! I’m working 10-7 today instead of 9-6 so I got to sleep in, eat my favorite ‘treat yoself’ breakfast (a cappucino and jambon beurre), and I get to go to a silly anime cafe tonight for the first time in awhile
this weekend I have a Halloween party to go to with my girlfriend (we are being crowley and aziraphale from good omens) and we’ll be bringing pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, so I’m very excited for that
