If I order from iHerb (or other foreign online shopping).
My order is free of consumption tax and import taxes if total order value under 10,000 yen? Will I pay any taxes for order under 10,000 yen?
The site says- for customs regulation I need a domestic phone number. My Japanese number is data only. Will this cause problems with customs?
For the delivery I am not too worried. I can track the parcel by email/site. And call the delivery company myself. But, I am concerned that customs could refuse my parcel due to my Japanese mobile being data only. (I do have a foreign number that can receive calls.)

From iHerb website:”Due to JP customs regulations, the amount of “Subtotal” can not exceed Â¥16,000 per order.

About your phone, np.
I’ve ordered from iHerb dozens of times, always under 10,000 yen, and never had to pay anything upon delivery.
I’ve also used my data-only number. It’s never been a problem.
You should be fine.
